Bigo

Bigo (b.1984) is a Seoul-based artist primarily interested in the cognitive communication of the body and objects. She experiments with the relationship between brain activity, the body, and the living environment. Her artworks suggest various cognitive changes, such as the extension or distortion of the body. Bigo's interdisciplinary practice, including performance, video, installation, and printed matter, actively invites audiences to participate in a movement or to attach artwork onto their bodies within the exhibition setting. In her first solo exhibition, Wishy-Washy Bodies (Centre A, Vancouver, Canada, 2017), she presented the participatory performance tOOOOOrso (2017). Since then, she has shown several participatory performances in Seoul, most recently online TRACERS 2.5 (2020).
